These meteors are quiet unusual, as they are generated from the debris of comet , but from the planet Phateon 3200, an asteroid in some very specific steps than can be very colse to the Earth.
the Geminidi meteors are fairly slow and therefore very nice to watch and quite photogenic. About 3% forms a spectacular trail trough the transition.
